The Church of Isola delle Femmine was built in different period from the crowd.
Before the 1850 it was a small
church with a nave but in the 1860 the faithful
bought the small houses at the side of the church and they built first the right
nave with four chapels and an altar.
In the 1903 the priest Pietro Mannino will all the faithful restorationed the main
nave, the floor was filled to make it at the same level of the street then they
built the left side of the church with others four chapels and the steeple, and a
pavement in cement.
In the 1995, it has been consecrated as Sanctuary dedicated to the
"Madonna delle Grazie".

Isola, a tunnara e quattru mura

Ora vi cuntu a storia du paisi!
Dieci varcuzzi e na vintina i casi,
i piscaturi iavanu a piscari
facennu sacrifici pi campari.
Uniti tutti quanti con amuri
purtannu in chiesa i Santi,
a Marunnuzza e lu Signuri
Gente onesta e travagliaturi
la sua ricchezza stu pizzuddu i mari
ma qualcuno c'aiutu du Signuri
a l'America sinni iu ad emigrari,
a pocu a pocu pagavanu li spisi
e purtavanu u progressu no' paisi
O Marunnuzza io te ti adoro,
i nostri nonni ci regalarono un tesoro.
In tutto il mondo tu ci fai sognare
i pescatori di pių ti sanno amare
Madre di Dio oh madre mia divina
benedici questa terra siciliana
di tutto il mondo tu sei la Regina
beata la pirsuna che ti ama.
La nostra chiesa ora č troppo bella
illuminata sempre da una stella
tutto il mondo a te, ti va a pregare
dal Nostro Dio facci perdonare;
tutti contenti baciando il tuo manto
nel nome del Padre del Figlio
e dello Spirito Santo.
